Mexico Extradites El Chapo’s Son to U.S.

On September 15, 2023, Mexican authorities extradited Ovidio Guzman Lopez, 33, of Culiacan, Mexico.  A federal court in Chicago arraigned the oldest son of former drug kingpin Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzmán, on September 18.  Mexican authorities arrested Guzman Lopez in January pursuant to a U.S. request for his provisional arrest with a view toward extradition.
