Abstract:
With the proliferation of home use video cassette recorders (VCR), an underground industry has emerged to provide the public with videocassettes of first run movies copied without permission from the holder(s) of the copyright. These modern day "pirates" deprive the copyright owners, usually the producer of the movie, of copyright royalties. The amount of revenue generated from this illegal activity is indeterminable.
