Search of Caterpillars Headquarters Increases Pressure in Tax Fraud Investigation

On March 2, 2017, dozens of federal authorities executed a search warrant on Caterpillar Inc.’s corporate headquarters and two other facilities, in an escalation of investigations into Caterpillar which were first limited to tax fraud, but now include allegations of failure to file or submitting false electronic export information and false and misleading financial reports and statements.
