Abstract:
On February 8, 2015, the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) released information on almost 60,000 files from HSBC’s Swiss private banking branch, causing tax authorities to start new investigations and causing the UK Parliament to inquire why the HMRC did not collect more revenue from United Kingdom taxpayers with undeclared accounts at HSBC.
