Abstract:
On May 14, 2012, the condition of U.S. citizen Zack Shahin, detained for over four years in Dubai without bail, trial, or conviction, gained prominence when he started a hunger strike and asked top U.S. officials to publicly champion his case the same way they do for non-U.S. prisoners in other countries.[1]
