On June 5th, 2008, Mexico filed a Request for Interpretation of the Judgment delivered on March 31, 2004, by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in the case Avena and Other Mexican Nationals (Mexico v. United States of America). Mexico alleged that a dispute exists with the U.S. and thus requested the Court to interpret the terms and meanings of its Avena decision.
