Abstract:
On May 13, 2008, the U.S. government announced the renewal of rewards of up to $5 million for tips leading to the arrest of any of thirteen persons suspected of war crimes during the Rwandan genocide. Ambassador-at-Large for War Crimes Issues Clint Williamson said the U.S. government will focus its rewards for justice program in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) because it believes many of the fugitives are thought to be living in the DRC.
