Sweden Drops Assange Rape Investigation, as Assange Remains in the Ecuadorean Embassy

Abstract: 
On May 19, 2017, Swedish prosecutor Marianne Ny announced that Sweden is dropping the rape investigation and revoking the arrest warrant for WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange because it was impossible to serve him notice.  However, Assange is remaining in the Ecuadorean embassy in London as he still faces a criminal charge in the UK and fears that criminal charges are pending in the U.S.
