South Africa’s High Court Declares the Government Withdrawal from the International Criminal Court Unconstitutional and Invalid

On February 22, 2017, the South African High Court (Gauteng Division, Pretoria) delivered a judgment declaring the government decision to withdraw from the Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC) “unconstitutional and invalid”. This High Court ruling blocks the government’s attempt to withdraw from the ICC.
