On May 17, 2010, Jamaican Prime Minister Bruce Golding reversed his nine-month position and said he would approve the extradition of Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke on charges of trafficking in drugs and arms. On May 12, 2010, Jamaican Prime Minister Bruce Golding admitted sanctioning the hiring of a U.S. law firm to lobby the U.S. not to push for the extradition of Coke.
