European Criminal Records Information System (ECRIS)

After having reached a political agreement on the Framework Decision on the organization and content of the exchange of information extracted from criminal records between Member States at the Council (Justice and Home Affairs) in June 2007 that, among other things, requires further measures for its implementation, in particular as regards the setting up of a computerized system of exchange of information, the European Commission prepared and submitted a proposal for a Council Decision on the establishment of the European Criminal Records Information System (ECRIS) in application of Article 11 of this Framework Decision...[more]
