Abstract: 
On May 7, 2008, Colombia extradited paramilitary leader Carlos Mario Jiménez-Naranjo (also known as Macaco) to the United States to face drug trafficking charges.  On May 7, 2008, he appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Alan Kay in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, listened to the charges, and pled not guilty.  Magistrate Judge Kay ordered him held without bail pending a detention hearing on May 12, 2008.  An initial hearing before a trial judge is set for May 23, 2008...[more]
