Abstract:
In February 1987, Representative Ron Dellums (D-CA) and Senator Alan Cranston (D-CA) introduced HR.1589 and S.556 to impose comprehensive sanctions against South Africa. The bills would amend the Comprehensive Anti-Apartheid Act of 1986 (CAAA) by closing loopholes that have permitted continued trade and monetary aid between the United States and the Botha Government.
