Abstract:

On July 24, 2017, Chinese national Guan Zong Chen (“Graham Chen”) was arraigned in U.S. District Court in Boston, Massachusetts after Australia extradited him on charges that he led a conspiracy to illegally export (smuggle) $700,000 worth of wildlife items made from rhinoceros horn, elephant ivory and coral from the U.S. to Hong Kong.  In 2016, the Australian authorities arrested Chen when he traveled from China to Australia.  In 2015, an indictment was returned by a federal grand jury in Boston and unsealed in anticipation of the hearing.[1]
