Abstract:
In an updated text dated March 21, 1986, of a speech delivered on October 2, 1985, Mr. Lionel Bowen, the Deputy Prime Minister, elaborated on Australia's continuing fight against crime, including its international initiatives. Mr. Bowen noted that, while drug trafficking is one of the most important of the organized crimes, other closely associated activities, such a large-scale tax evasion, widespread abuse of banking facilities, money laundering and other similar activities, are just as damaging to Australia.
